2020 Scholarship Recipients
Public Service Scholarship
The public service scholarship is awarded to a student who has a passion for community service. Our recipient demonstrated at least a full year of consistent community service and provided an essay to highlight the lasting community impact of his efforts.

The Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) scholarship is awarded to a female student who will pursue a STEM-related path of study in college. Our recipient took multiple STEM-related courses in high school, met GPA requirements and provided an essay on what inspired her to pursue a STEM field with thoughts on how to encourage other females to do the same.

Cassandra Denise Waldon Memorial Scholarship
The Cassandra Denise Waldon Memorial scholarship is awarded to a female student who will pursue a particular field of study (i.e. journalism, English, international studies, marketing) at a Historically Black College or University (HBCU). Our recipient demonstrated high academic achievement in these related courses, met GPA requirements and provided an essay that discussed what inspired her to pursue a career in a particular field and what her career looks like five years post-graduation.
Congratulations to our 2020 Cassandra Denise Waldon Memorial Scholarship Winner!!
The academic scholarship is awarded to a student who demonstrated high academic achievement. Our recipient had at least a 3.8 GPA on a non-weighted scale (4.3 on a weighted scale) and provided an essay summarizing how she achieved academic success with thoughts on how to motivate others to do the same.

The Harford County Alumnae Chapter Maryland is offering its annual Scholarship Awards to graduating seniors from Harford and Cecil Counties because we have a sincere interest in the future academic endeavors of our youth. These scholarship awards are $1,000 non-renewable grants.
We encourage each of your qualified students to apply for this one-time opportunity by submitting:
- A completed SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
- A copy of the acceptance letter from the college or university the applicant plans to attend
- An official transcript
- The data requested in Part II
- The essay(s), 150 – 250 words, as described in Part III
- The letter(s) of recommendation as described in Part III; And
- High School Counselor’s Report on page 4
- Photo (optional)
